In 1991, life added a challenge which forced the gifts of faith, compassion, perspective and positive attitude when cancer took the life of her 31-year-old husband, Dave Dickensheet, and left in his place a message which Terri is compelled to exemplify in her daily living and to share within her presentations. The desire to 'start over' encouraged Terri to accept the position of Marketing Manager for the Silver Dollar City corporation in Branson, Missouri. She took with her abilities as an advertising specialist, creative writer and producer and focused them on results-oriented tasks. The corporation identified her internal marketing skills and two years later she was asked to develop and launch a corporate training center built to enhance learning, to orient new employees on the company's culture and to annually welcome back the employees who return to work within the nine-month tourism industry of Branson. That invitation was too challenging to pass up and Terri spent six months benchmarking corporate universities and training centers throughout America. Her entrepreneurial spirit flourished and in 1993 she and her team opened Legendary University. In the first year, this unique training center oriented over 2,000 teammates to the corporation. As Director of Legendary University and member of the Silver Dollar City Operating Team, Terri introduced continuing education in the fields of customer satisfaction, salesmanship and teamwork. One year later Legendary University opened its doors to external seminars and offered personalized customer service training to hospitality, recreation and tourism businesses throughout the Midwest. Legendary
University expanded its areas of influence to include reward and recognition,
team-to-team communication, motivational rallies, and fun! Legendary University
introduced internal marketing, employee motivation and reward, and the
impact of attitude-on-skill training to many organizations. In 1993 Terri proudly accepted the coaching and guidance of her mentor, Dr. James Belasco, author of "Teaching The Elephant to Dance", "The Flight Of The Buffalo" and "Soaring With The Phoenix". Today, Terri operates her own consulting business, Tucker Resources, offering meeting facilitation, customer service training, guest experience enhancement, team and individual motivation, mission/value statement facilitation, and performance agreement development to corporations and organizations of all sizes throughout the country.
